They're here (and selling fast!)

Nice Knickers is proud to introduce a new line - FLOURISH PADS - lush hand-dyed bamboo velour topped pads, with gorgeous cotton prints!

These are instock now in my OZeBaby store, so go, quickly!

FLOURISH PADS are now the ONLY bamboo velour Nice Knickers pads being made, so there's no need to look any further for them. The current lot will be the only ones listed before Christmas but they will be made on a semi-regular basis throughout the new year, so if you miss out this time, don't be too worried, more are coming eventually.

Getting closer

The print is here and the bamboo velour is dyed, so the bamboo velour pads are getting closer! I've just got to get a few custom bag orders finished and then I'll get to the pad making. So things are on track for them to be ready in a week or so. And in the meantime, here's a sneak peek at the velour:

A much needed update and some exciting news!

Firstly, I need to apologise for the lack of updates here! Things are going well with Nice Knickers though!

There isn't a lot to report, but I thought I'd just come and mention two words: bamboo. velour.

It's coming soon! I am hoping to have some pads made from it in my ozebaby store in about two weeks. The velour itself just arrived half an hour ago. I've just got to get out the dye, and wait for the pretty cotton print to arrive. Also got to get through a few Plus 1 Design bag/wallet orders first.

At the moment the bamboo velour won't be a full-time thing - just a one off, but I'm hoping to make the one offs more often! If it goes well, I'll definitely keep supplies up. The biggest problem is that it can be a time consuming and expensive exercise when you hand dye it. But I'm sure you all agree that the results are worth the effort!

July update

This is just a short update to let everyone know that there are lots of new pads in my OZeBaby store, including some of the 'Almost Organics' pads at last! There's only a couple at the moment, but if they sell, I'll keep making them!

There's also a new handbag, and a new style of wallet! In the coming weeks, I hope to add more bags and a few other new things.

That's all for now! Like I said - this is a short update!

New fabrics

I've been doing some serious fabric shopping lately. Here are just a few of the new flannels on their way here from the states. There are others. And some cotton prints as well. A change of scenery is always nice!

Oh and I posted this on my other boring blog, but since no one has seen it, and I've mentioned the nappy bags here before, this is a nappy bag I made a few weeks ago. My lovely customer chose the frog print fabric and I teamed it with some lush faux suede and it came out soooo nice! One of my favourites so far.

Pad Pouches

Just a quick post about a new product in my OZeBaby store! Pad Pouches are little wetbags made specifically for keeping cloth pads in. They're lined with PUL so they're waterproof and they just look like a little purse, so they're nice and discreet.

Going green(er)

Well as the title suggests, I'm going a little greener! Well actually, I'm not, cause green doesn't really suit me, but Nice Knickers are. It's just a little change, but everything makes a difference, right? So, what am I talking about? New packaging... The pretty pink tags with the pretty pink ribbon were nice, but also quite expensive and not really very green, so I've made a change to my packaging. Each pad will now come with it's own small wrapper/tag, made from 100% recycled paper and taped with biodegradable tape.

And, organic pads are on their way! I'm just waiting for some more fabric to arrive, but in the new few weeks I'll be launching my new organic range. These will be pads made exclusively from hemp/organic cotton, or bamboo/organic cotton with a little hemp/org cotton, and all stitched together with organic cotton thread. Have I mentioned they'll be organic?! They won't have PUL layer (but will have more absorbent layers to compensate) and won't be dyed or have fancy prints, cause in most cases, that means adding chemicals. But they will be the same high quality as all my pads and good for you and the planet.

What prompted the organic range?? Well, I'm glad you asked! I have some exciting news - Nice Knickers will be in a real life store as of next week! The store is Alfalfa House and it's in Enmore in Inner West Sydney. It's an amazing little store, full of organic and local produce and I'm sooooo happy that they are the first store to stock my products. If you're in Sydney, go check them out - they are doing very good things!

Oppps, tardy again!

Just a quick update since it's been awhile. My OZeBaby store is full to the brim with pads and other things, so if you're looking for anything, that's the best place to start!
